What is LEVEL 2 NVQ CERTIFICATE IN ACTIVITY LEADERSHIP?

The Level 2 Certificate in Activity Leadership is a qualification that is aimed at showing the competencies of a person working in the role of an activity leader in areas such as exercise & fitness, coaching and outdoors. There are mandatory units that are covered in the course and include preparing, concluding, leading and reviewing the activity sessions on top of supporting the role of teams in promoting safety and health and diversity and equality. Some of the objectives of these qualifications are to meet the relevant learning programs and supporting roles at the workplace.

As a learner in the is LEVEL 2 NVQ Certificate In Activity Leadership, you are supposed to achieve at least 30 credits with 25 of the credits from the six units being in Group A which is mandatory and at least 2 units from Group B which is optional. The assessment of the units in the qualification is done through portfolio. The evidence for the qualification should be gotten through the consistent performance of the learner at the workplace. Some of the other qualifications that the learner should meet include:

·         Other qualification requirements using NVQ according to the QCF Appendix A

·         NVQs and SVQs Skills Assessment Strategy according to Appendix B

·         Customer service CFA Assessment Strategy according to unit 18 OF Appendix D

·          QCF Evidence Requirement &Assessment according to Appendix c of Level Two NXQ Activity Leadership Certificate

You can find more guidance for the unit in the each unit’s assessment guidance. You must meet the Assessment Criteria of each of the relevant unit in order to get the qualification. You should also fill an achievement record for the qualification including forms that show that you have the competence and knowledge. It is also important to note that there is no grading for this qualification and all that is given to successful candidate is just a pass.

What are the entry requirements? There are no entry requirements. However, there are learners should be able to work from at least Level 1. The assessors/trainers as well as internal verifiers who deliver this kind of qualification should be able to meet the requirement in accordance to the assessment strategy.

 Some of the areas that learners will cover with this course include checking & servicing activity equipment, contributing to adventurous activity and participating to the understanding and exploration of natural environment by the participants.
