An inverter battery is a device consisting of one or more electro chemical cells coupled together to provide continuous power supply in case of power cuts. These batteries generate DC (Direct Current) and with the help of inverters, this is converted into AC (Alternating Current) to supply varying current according to the power of different appliances.

What does 12V mean in a battery?

The alphabet ‘V’ here stands for voltage. So 12 volts is the nominal voltage for this battery. Nominal voltage is defined as the rated voltage of any electrical equipment. It is the voltage at which the device is designed to operate.

What is AH (Ampere Hour)?

An ampere hour (abbreviated Ah) is the amount of energy charge in a battery that will allow one ampere of current to flow for one hour. Generally the AH is taken on a 20 hour basis. For instance, if a battery is specified at 100 AH then it means that 5 Ampere of current will flow every hour for 20 hours.
