What is IEC Registration?

IEC is a short form of Import Export Code. It is a 10-digit code that a business man or a person who needs to import/export goods and services. IEC Registration code is issued by Director General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) Ministry of Commerce and Industries, Indian Government. This code's validity is for a lifetime, that is, there is no requirement to renew it.

Who is DGFT of India?

The DGFT (Directorate General of Foreign Trade) is the agency of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry of the Indian Government responsible for governing laws about foreign trade and foreign investment in India.

How to Get Import Export Code? Document Required For IEC Registration

1.     Mandatory Requirements to apply for IEC Code Number
2.     PAN Number.
3.     Current Bank Account.
4.     Bankers Certificate.
5.     IEC Code Number. Application Fee.
6. The physical application containing required documents should reach DGFT RLA concerned within 15 days of its online submission.
7.  E-mail is not mandatory.

 

Is Digital Signature Mandatory for IEC?

Now Amendments in IEC, Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) will not be required. If you are applying a fresh IEC Code, Attachment of PAN card copy and Copy of address proof.

What Are the Fees for IEC Code?

New IEC code Application fee/IEC Registration online is Rs. 500/- You can make payments through Demand Draft/ Pay Order from any designated bank in favour of JT. Either you can make payment online for IEC Registration

How Many Days it will Take to Get IEC Code?

A Photocopy of PAN card with self-attached has to be submitted along with the application. Can more than one IEC code be issued against one PAN? How much time does it take to prepare an IEC by DGFT? Normally 10 days it takes to get IE code online.

How Do I Edit IEC application?

For IEC Modification we have to following below steps:

First, you need to DGFT website enter pan number on DGFT Portal. Then enter the Pan Card number, date of birth and enter OTP, File number, Date, Name (OTP and File number you will get in message).  Then click on IEC modification. If you want to new IEC, then click new.

Can I Import Without IEC Code?

You couldn't import/export without an IEC code/certificate. IEC Registration, Import Export Code is the most significant prerequisite in the case of Importation or Exportation of goods & products. But yes, you can't do it doesn't signify that there is no way out.
