What do you think NcSoft will do against bots in BNS
I don't know about the other regions, but TW is horrid with bots. Any day you can see 30+ destroyer bots moving through the zones leveling up and they all teleport in a big train line or teleport to mobs.
And as with most companies they ban in big waves but very far apart. Which means the people who have been impacted negatively by these bot swarms have probably already quit or left by the time any kind of consequence is dealt.
And also bans pretty much do nothing, as game is f2p, they constantly have new accounts botting to level up to replace any lots Blade-Soul Gold. Also any rmt items(BNS Gold/gear) is moved to a neutral accounts(think bank accounts) that has less of a chance of being banned, and stuff is moved from there to new accounts when sold.
Background software like gameguard, nguard, warden etc are all useless in prevention. Any "fix" is completely overridden in hours after a update by the people who keep bot/hack programs going.
The only actual prevention/solution I can see game companies being able to provide is Live staff with characters in game with powers to instantly kick/ban a account. But those don't exist these days, everything is done offline via CS systems that have as much red tape as governments.
In the end , only players really have the power to stop ramptant botting, since the vast majority of botting is done to support/feed the RMT market.
