What Color Was The Horse?

Last night on CSI (Crime Scene Investigation or CSI Las Vegas) one of the investigators, Detective Jim Brass (Played by Paul Guilfoyle), told a really cool story that really made me think and I just wanted to share it with you.

Now, I have to tell you that I am not very good at retelling stories, I never seem to be able to get all of the details right, so this version will not be as good as his was... but here goes:

There once was an accident involving a horse and car.  There were people hurt, the cars were totaled and the horse was seriously hurt.  One of the policemen on the scene decided that, because the horse was so badly injured, it needed to be put down. which he did.

The scene was eventually cleared, and life went back to normal.   However, when asked, not one person who was at the scene could remember the color of the horse.

Ok... so that was a watered down version... but I think I was still able to make my point.  We all get so enamored with things, that we don't take notice of details.  This is true in every part of our lives... even marketing.  Think about it.
