What Are The Various Aspects Evaluated In The Air Audits?

by Audry Campbell Writer
It is important for the industries to perform air audits time to time. These reviews help in getting real time information about the functioning of the compressors and the storage equipments. This way one can maintain the balance between the demand and supply for better results. Most of the organizations try to incorporate the poor quality compressor units for the production of compressed air; however, they do not realize that it can affect their performance ghastly.

The damaged or poor performing system can affect the output of your industrial units to a great level. You need to work on them with help of the compressed air audits performed by the individual audit teams. They will go through every system in the air compressor unit to make sure it is working just fine as per the set criteria. In the compressor system, they will examine how the components on both the ends (supply and demand) are working. They will evaluate:

• Air treatment level:- They will make sure that the air is being treated appropriately since over treatment will result into waste of energy and under treatment will cause lack of sufficient pressure. In both the cases, the auditors will put forth their recommendation to improve the system.

• Leakage:- Leakage can affect the air pressure in the compressed air units. Therefore, the reviewers will suggest an effective leak management program to deal with the given issue.

• Pressure:- The pressure level should be maintained at lowest as possible. The auditors will scrutinize it to ensure the low pressure levels. Lower pressure can save a lot of energy, which means low cost of production. The reviewers will suggest using the energy efficient compressor for low cost of operation.

• Storage:- Due to improper storage, the air pressure can be harmed. Hence, the auditors will make sure that the storage is done in proper manner keeping the industry standards at hand.

Various other aspects of compressed air system are there, which are evaluated in the audit like filters, after coolers, dryer, distribution systems, drains, and so on. It is advisable to hire the individual or independent auditors for the review of your compressed air units since the dependent ones can generate biased results. They will try to promote their own organization or the organization, which they represent in the review report. In case you have been hiring your service provider or the compressed air unit provider for reviewing until now, try to hire someone else to make sure the compressed air system auditing is unbiased.
