by Gaurav Srivastava Digital Marketing Manager

Our Aadhaar card includes all our details either residential or biometric. All the biometric details of an individual are recognized and then stored and updated online so that they can be used in times of need. Our Aadhaar card consists of a unique 12 digit identification number and also all other details are mentioned on this card. This card is valid all over India for verification or identification. Not only government organizations but now even private institutions have started undertaking aadhaar as an identity or residential proof. The government of India has started this procedure of identifying each individual uniquely long way before. But now this seems to be successful, around more than 80% of the total population has been identified uniquely.

What is the role of biometrics in the Aadhaar card?

Biometric of every individual like fingerprints, iris, and face is scanned and all these details are updated online. These biometrics of individuals make this verification more unique. A 12 digit number is given on the basis of all these details. The use of this biometric technology is being done widely for the identification and authentication of human individuals. Biometrics is a term generally used for recognition of unique characteristics of individuals like fingerprints, palm, face, iris, voice, and many others. Why the unique features of individuals are used? These traits are used to make the identification of individuals unique. And also chances of duplication become very less. For example, their uniqueness can be calculated on the fact that even two identical twins do not have the same fingerprints.
