What are the Main Reasons to Visit Korean Peninsula Jeju Island?
by John Smith LearnerJeju
is a tropical paradise with white sand beaches, waterfalls, and verdant
vegetation. It is the most oversized island off the Korean Peninsula. No wonder
the island is sometimes called the "Hawaii of South Korea" and is a
popular destination for honeymooners. Jeju Island boasts breathtaking architecture, volcanic craters,
an adult-only amusement park, and a tea museum. There are countless
attractions, but we've selected the top for you.
Reason no 1: Incredible culture
Jeju's
preservation of its distinctive culture dates back hundreds of years. This is
one of my favourite things about the island. The ubiquitous stone-carved
grandfather statue serves as the emblem of Jeju. Since its inception in 1774,
when the former Korean leader ordered the islanders of Jeju to produce 48 of
them, they have become iconic symbols of the island. Plus, there are almost
6,000 female divers in Jeju. They fish barehanded in the ocean. And their average
age is 75 (yes, 75!). Something exclusive to the island of Jeju!
Reason no 2: Volcano Heaven
There
are about 350 volcanoes on Jeju island, albeit none are now spewing lava.
Volcanic craters may be seen from almost anywhere in Jeju. You wouldn't believe
it, but the dark hue and erosion-shaped holes on the surface of rocks prove
that 95% of the rocks and stones seen on Earth today are formed from lava. In
addition, you may trek up to the top of several of the craters to enjoy the
breathtaking vistas (as you can see up there) because they are all within
hiking distance.
Reason no 3: Relaxed Atmosphere
A
mere 600,000 people call Jeju Island, three times the size of Seoul proper,
home. That's about 3% of Seoul's total population. Jeju Island South Korea is known for its tranquil atmosphere. Everything is
calm and collected. No towering towers can be seen. Neither traffic nor honking
horns are to be heard. When compared to the hectic pace of Seoul, the leisurely
pace of Jeju is a welcome relief.
Reason no 4: Things to do outdoor
You
have arrived at the perfect island if you enjoy climbing and trekking! Jeju is
a hiker's dream due to its breathtaking scenery, which includes volcanoes,
mountains, and valleys. Going around the island on foot allowed me to soak in
more of the scenery and enjoy how beautiful it is. Parking the car and setting
out on long, arduous hikes was a standard part of my Jeju island visit. Scuba
diving offers the opportunity to observe the rare pink and red corals, sure to
please anyone who loves the water.
Reason no 5: Romantic getawaY
