What are some good movies about parenthood? Recommended by a 4D well-being scan clinic in Cardiff

by Alice Thomas Writer
Parenthood is messy, hectic, uplifting, and beautiful all at the same time. It's something that has been captured again and again in films and television programs. From a comedy about dealing with unexpected pregnancies to dramatic studies of what it means to be a good parent, there is a vast range of films to choose from. Whether you're a novice or experienced parent, or just searching for a comforting film to watch during these uncertain times, these films recommended by a 4D well-being scan clinic in Cardiff on motherhood are a fantastic retreat.

Finding Nemo (2003)

After losing his other children and his wife, clown-fish Marlin (Albert Brooks) is overprotective of his sole surviving son, Nemo (Alexander Gould), who has one fin that is shorter than the other, making swimming difficult. Nemo is irritated by his domineering father and chooses to swim near the surface to demonstrate that he is capable of far more than Marlin believes. However, he is kidnapped by a diver, and Marlin must go across the Great Barrier Reef with a lovely — but forgetful — fish called Dory (Ellen DeGeneres) to locate and rescue his son. Marlin learns along the road to tackle his own anxieties and do not allow sadness to keep him back.

Knocked Up (2007)

This rom-com demonstrates Judd Apatow and Seth Rogen's powerful comic duo. Lazy and unemployed Ben (Rogen) meets ambitious and accomplished Alison (Katherine Heigl) for a one-night fling. They split up after that, only to rejoin a few weeks later when Alison finds she's pregnant. The plot follows the two as they react to the news and try to figure out how to live together. This is 40, starring Leslie Mann and Paul Rudd, is a spin-off sequel to the humorous film.

Onward (2020)

This fantasy film is about dealing with the sadness of a parent's death. Against all odds, magic grants two adolescent elf brothers Ian (Tom Holland) and Barley (Chris Pratt) one more day with their late father. But there's a problem. They only brought back his bottom half when they regenerated him. Ian and Barley go on an epic magical trip to finish the spell and totally reconcile with their father so they may have a discussion with him before the enchantment fades. However, their mother (Julia Louis-Dreyfus), who is aware of their disappearance, seeks the aid of a strong, magical manticore (Octavia Spencer) to help her return her kids home.
