Disorderly conduct, Tollis Parkway: On Oct. 11, police were dispatched to a Tollis Parkway building regarding a man kicking and pounding on the door. An arriving officer found the man, who smelled like booze, inside of the vestibule.

The man then pushed all of the apartment buzzers. The officer told him they had a complaint about someone waking up the residents. He then asked, "How do you know it was me?"

The man also refused to give the officers his name or address. That's when he was arrested. However, police then discovered an SUV with Pennsylvania license plates in the parking lot. While talking to the female passenger, the officer smelled booze as she described the evening's scenario.

Apparently her and her husband had just attended a wedding in downtown Cleveland. They were supposed to be at a Rockside Road hotel but were lost. That's when her husband left her in the SUV. The woman was given a courtesy ride to the hotel.

Aggravated burglary, Kimrose Lane: On Oct. 11, police were dispatched to a Kimrose Lane residence regarding a break-in. The arriving officer was met by the homeowner's ex-husband, who was at the house with his son to pick up his school clothes.

While in the garage they noticed the front door had been forced open. It turned out the only missing items – an iPad, speakers, sunglasses and $10 in change – were from the son's room. The son has a suspect in mind. Police are investigating.

Theft, Royalton Road: On Oct. 9, police were dispatched to Antonio's Pizza regarding a theft in progress. When the police arrived, they were told the suspect ran east towards Broadview Road. An employee caught and tackled the thief, who had stolen a cell phone and charger.

It turned out the thief, who had previously worked at Antonio's, had also taken a skateboard and fishing tackle from the same employee's car in August. The items were retrieved from the home of the thief's mother in Macedonia. The man was charged with theft and criminal mischief.

Heroin possession, I-77: On Oct. 6, police ran the information of a gold Ford sedan. It turned out the car's owner had a warrant from the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office. The officer arrested the driver. When told the police would be searching the car, man admitted to having a drug kit with syringes, pipe, a glass vial, metal cap, alcohol pads, metal spoon and elastic band.

Police also found heroin in his wallet. The passenger was also cited for possession of drugs, drug abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia.

Felonious assault, Broadview Road: On Oct. 1, Mercy Hospital in Lorain contacted the police about a patient who had sustained injuries (head trauma with brain bleeding) while at work in Broadview Heights. An officer responded to the man's place of work.

The owner admitted the man had been involved in a fight but there weren't any witnesses. The officer then went to Lorain to talk to the victim, whose face, eye and mouth were swollen with red and bleeding abrasions. The man, who didn't speak English, said through a translator that the fight had to do with his impending divorce.

The aggressor's wife is the victim's sister-in-law. The victim felt she was responsible for his divorce. That's when the aggressor attacked the man. The police talked to the aggressor, who admitted to striking the victim first. A few days later a warrant was issued for the aggressor. It turned out he was in the country illegally. The man was cited for felonious assault.

Also, the officer contacted immigration about a fraudulent social security number.
