Water – The best energy drink to keep you in shape
by Pooja Late so cutToday, the supplement market
is enriched with diverse health drinks for adults in India. The industry
contains numerous options that most people find it as a daunting task to make a
choice. This shouldn’t be an issue because it is easy to make a choice in spite
of the numerous options. Nevertheless, water is the best option to choose from
these drinks. Do you mean water? Yes, because it contains important nutrient
for the body. It contains no calories and readily available anywhere. Every
nutrient required by the body is contained in water and helps in restoring the
fluids lost breathing, sweating, metabolism, and removal of waste from the
body. If you are considering rehydrating your body system or quenching your
thirst, water is the perfect option.
What quantity of water is required
for the body?
Well, there is no
exact quantity of water to consume for
the day. However, the Institute of Medicine advises men to consume 15 cups of
water while women should take 11 cups each day. It is essential to note that this
isn’t a daily target rather a general guide.
While many people will prefer beverages, water is a
perfect choice because it is sugar-free and contains no calories. Initially,
water can taste bland for those who love drinking sweet beverages. To increase
the consumption of water without losing its flavor, you can try refreshing when
tasty with water-based beverages.
Instilled water
Instead of buying expensive
water flavored in stores, you can produce your own from the comfort of your
home. Just add the following items to the
water.
·
Sliced cucumber or sliced fresh ginger
·
Crushed berries
·
Crushed fresh mint
·
Sliced citrus fruits or zest (lime, lemon grapefruit, orange)
Sparkling water with a splash of
juice
Similar to sugary soda, sparkling
juice also contains calories. Instead of buying from grocery stores, make your
own sparkling juice. Take 12 ounces of sparkling water and add two ounces of
juice. If you want additional flavor, you can add fresh herbs (mint) or sliced
citrus.
Beverages to limit
It is important to avoid drinks that contain sugar
because they contain many calories and don’t have nutrients. Furthermore, the
consumption of drinks that has high sugar can lead to increased type 2
diabetes, gout, weight gain, and cardiovascular disease. Sugar-sweetened soda
or fruit punch contains approximately 150 calories. The consumption of this
drink on a daily basis without reducing your calories make contributes to you
increasing your weight by 5 pounds each year. However, if you want the story to
change, you have to reduce your intake of sugary drinks. Sports drinks were
designed to furnish athletes with carbs and fluid in the course of their
intensive workouts. If you are not an athlete, it is better to avoid them
because they are sources of sugar and calories. Finally, energy drinks have much sugar as soft drinks. They have enough
caffeine to increase your blood pressure
