Water Softening System, Helping to Treat Hard Waters

by Avadhesh Sharma SEO Analyst
The process of removing magnesium, calcium and some metal cations which are present in hard water is called water softening. Water hardness is mainly caused due to high mineral content. Hard water poses critical issues in industrial settings. This form of water is capable of damaging cooling towers, boilers and other water handling equipment. Hence several water softening plants are built up to overcome the problems caused due to hard water.

Hard water required a huge amount of soap to form lather for cleaning purposes and results in a lot of wastage, this is because the sop bonds with calcium leading to wastage. Whereas, after softening, the water requires soap is much less quantity for the same cleaning effort.

The water is also softened for longevity in the plumbing system. The hard water builds up accumulations of undesirable materials on the solid surface. These foul build up might be organic or inorganic which is very harmful to drinking water. Hard water processed through local water softening plant minimises the risk of harmful scale build-up.

Mechanism of Water Softener
Water softening plants are constructed in such a way so that they can treat water to suit various applications. In a water softening system, the calcium and magnesium ions present in hard water is removed, replacing them with sodium ions. After the water enters the water softening unit, it passes through porous plastic resins of several cubic feet, which is covered with molecules that are attracted and bound by the dissolved positive ions in water.

Each cubic feet of resins are capable of removing magnesium and calcium ions from 3200 gallons of hard water. A water softening system includes a mineral tank and a brine tank. The former one is connected to the water supply pipe. The mineral tank is comprised of negatively charged resins to attract positively charged magnesium and calcium. After that this resin is got ridden by infusing sodium solution in the brine tank.

Types of Water Softener
• Chemical water softener, which is used in the laundries. This type helps to remove magnesium and calcium which enhances the durability of clothes. Water treated from this softener is not for drinking.
• Precipitating packaged water softeners use borax and washing soda for reacting with calcium and magnesium ions forming an insoluble precipitate.
• In a non-precipitating packaged water softener, the magnesium and calcium ions are separated from water by complex phosphates.

Manufacturer and Supplier of Water Softener Plant
There are many companies in India that are engaged in manufacturing, supplying and also exporting a large array of water treating machinery. Maharashtra homes several water softener plant in India which have fully equipped production units facilitated with ultra-modern computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing programs. These companies also use advanced machines like lathes, CNC mills, Hydraulic press, Drills and several others which help them to meet bulk orders efficiently.

These machines are handled by a team of skilled workers, engineers and technicians. Thus these companies provide premium quality products to their customers. These companies claim to provide optimum quality products which are highly appreciated for their performance and efficiency along with the optimum output. These water softened plants are applicable in every kind of industrial application. These water softeners are designed following quality standards which are acclaimed internationally.
