by Clayton Clive Blogger

Jackson has a long history in the South and is surrounded by renowned musicians. Discover the point at when country and rock merged to become Rockabilly. Take in the beauty of iconic Civil War battle fields and a thriving downtown scene. A location where future baseball stars are born and great railroad hero’s tales are still told. We cordially invite you to discover West Tennessee's heart.

Jackson, Tennessee, which is a little off the beaten route, is the ideal addition to any trip to Memphis or Nashville. As you tour the area's cultural institutions, it becomes clear that this sleepy town has significant roots in the early blues and rock n' roll.

Jackson is keenly aware of its past, from vintage automobiles to legendary railroads, and the value of maintaining it. Acclaimed vineyards, museums, family-friendly attractions, and the great outdoors may all be found in Jackson or are accessible within a 30-minute drive of the city Centre.

Given that Jackson is only two hours west of Nashville and an hour and a half east of Memphis, you may easily combine a trip to Jackson with a trip to one of Tennessee's major cultural centers.

Want to know more? Here are the top things to do in Jackson TN that you and your group will enjoy.

FARMERS' MARKET IN WEST TENNESSEE

Visit the West Tennessee Farmers' Market in Downtown Jackson, open from Tuesday through Saturday, for a taste of everything the state has to offer. As you choose fresh vegetables, meat, and dairy, you'll have the chance to interact with regional farmers and producers.

The market is a traditional method to learn about the Midwest in between whether you're primarily living in Jackson or travelling to Memphis.

The market is more of a destination than a place to dash to the store because it has food trucks, bakeries, and quick bites. You could easily spend an entire morning there getting to know the vendors, eating breakfast or lunch, and looking for Tennessee-made goods to take home.

TV & MOVIE CAR MUSEUM RUSTY'S

Rusty Robinson's TV and Movie Car Museum, run by the auto enthusiast, is a well-known Jackson institution that attracts tourists from all over the country. The museum's collection of over 50 cars, which you'll recognise from your favourite movies and TV shows, is both family-friendly and constantly growing.

Many of the vehicles are original models that, because to Robinson's enthusiasm, found their way from the big screen to this area of Western Tennessee. Fans can appreciate vintage rides in a quaint, well-organized museum environment that is miles away from Hollywood thanks to this one-of-a-kind collection.

The museum is typically open from Friday through Sunday; other days of the week, visits must be scheduled in advance.

VILLAGE OF CASEY JONES

Railroad engineer Casey Jones is still remembered in Jackson legend more than a century after his untimely passing, making him by far one of the town's most well-known people. The conductor and his wife, Joanna, relocated to Jackson to start a family. He was known for his engineering expertise, commitment to train operation, and warning whistles. Jones, who perished in a train accident in 1900, was given musical immortality as the subject of numerous songs and ballads.

In order to learn about the early locomotives that previously traversed Tennessee, tourists can today stroll around the Casey Jones Home & Railroad Museum. Displays emphasise Jackson's contribution to railroad routes in the 19th century, the engineer's life story, and the outbreak of the Civil War. For photo ops, a duplicate of Jones' locomotive engine 382 is also present. The museum is open every day, albeit Sundays have shorter hours.

The Old Country Store and Dixie Cafe welcome guests seven days a week, and Casey Jones Village, in addition to its historical significance, serves as a town centre for family entertainment. Both locations serve breakfast, and on weekends there is a breakfast buffet available at the Old Country Store.
