Being a WAHM is hard work... but it's not without it's rewards. Trying to juggle the kids and your business can sometimes be a struggle... Here's some tips to help you manage a business and family at the same time.

1. Try to include the little ones... I spent alot of my time working on my business while they sat on my lap. I got good at one handed typing, I can tell you that much!

2. Make time to play. The kids need you, you need the kids. Playing is one of the most fulfilling things you can do to strengthen the bond you have. Don't overlook that.

3. Have set hours for your business.
Set a block of time each day for your business. The time best set aside is the kids' nap time. This will give you at least an hour (hopefully) to work uninterrupted.

4. Set a schedule for your phone calls.
It's impossible to try to answer the phone with a crying 9 month old on your arm. All of your phone calls must be set when the little ones are napping. Or if they are old enough - playing quietly.

5. Use a filing cabinet that can be LOCKED!
Little children are curious and they will get into EVERYTHING!

6. Password protect your computer. Little fingers can hit the wrong keys and wipe out all of your saved information.

7. Start as soon as possible teaching your little ones that 'mommy's workspace is OFF LIMITS!'.

8. Remember your offline life. You do have a house to take care of, a husband (if married) to take care of (he needs you too), other responsibilities. Don't get so caught up in the "I've got to get this done..." thinking that you get nothing done.

9. If you have a spouse or other close family member or friend
who is willing to take the kids for a walk in the park, over to their
place for awhile or somewhere other than in your house for an
hour or two once or twice a week. This will allow you some
breathing room, a change of routine and an opportunity to take
care of any needed business matters that simply cannot be done
with a child underfoot.

Above I have listed some of the most obvious tips to help you juggle what can be a difficult task of integrating your work at home business and the taking care of your little ones.
