The UK Boss of German Automaker Volkswagen has Said that About 400,000 Volkswagen Cars in the UK Might Need an Engine Modification

The Volkswagen UK boss said that they will face massive bills of engine modifications in the UK now where, almost 400,000 vehicles will need engine modifications and fuel injectors altered as well as a fix for the defeat devices.



Which Engines to be Modified?

According to the managing director of Volkswagen UK, Paul Willis, Volkswagen 1.6-litre diesel engines would need a physical modification. It might involve an injector replacement or several other physical remedies.


A software fix will be offered to those with the larger 2.0-litre engines.

Volkswagen Apologises the UK customers

Mr Willis apologised openly and wholeheartedly for letting the customers’ trust down in the UK. He said, "Volkswagen has significantly let down its customers and the wider public... we recognise we've fallen short of the standards expected and we will take all the necessary steps to regain trust."


He confirms that Volkswagen was selling cars with cheat devices in the UK since 2008 and a total of 1.2 million cars had been affected in the UK only. There are at least half million Volkswagens, 400,000 Audi cars, 130,000 Skoda models and about 75,000 seats vehicles were sold in the UK since 2008. The home country of Volkswagen, has even more affected vehicles than the UK.


He further added that they are arranging the recall schedule and most probably, first recall will be issued in 2016.
