For common
understanding, molding is a process of manufacturing by which liquid or pliable
new material gets a rigid shape which is popularly known as mold. As
everybody knows plastic is a non-metallic compounds produced synthetically and
most specifically it can be molded into various shapes and hardened for various
commercial uses. This is the reason
why plastic mould are at high demand.
Plastic
molding is a process of
shaping plastic by using a rigid frame or mould. By using this highly demanding
plastic mold technique, objects of
all shapes and sizes with can be designed. The most advantageous point is that,
it offers a noticeable flexibility for both simple and highly complex designs. For
example, it is highly applicable in so many car parts, containers, signs and
other high volume items. Plastic molding is a very technical
process. Therefore, a very scientific and systematic study should be first made
before going into the same business.
As per the concept, the basic technique
in plastic molding is inserting molten liquid plastic into a ready shaped mold.
Then it will be allowed to cool, and the mold will be removed. Irrespective of
so many molding processes available for plastic molding. These are like-
1.
Injection molding
2.
Blow molding
3.
Compression molding
4.
Film insert molding
5.
Gas assist molding
6.
Rotational molding
7.
Structural foam molding
8.
Thermoforming.
