Soya kabab is a type of dish consists of small pieces of onion, tomatoes, and vegetables, etc that are threaded onto skewers and grilled over charcoal. You can add spice and salt to spice up the soya kabab.

Delicious and tasty soya kabab recipes are made by using vegetables like peas; potatoes textured vegetable protein (TSP) which is soya granules or soya chunks. Soya kabab is usually made with meat and it is to be grilled on skewers by either charcoal or tandoor oven. You can eat this along with mint chutney, onion chutney, tomato sauce, chili sauce or lemon wedges. Due to the usage of soya granules or soya chunks, this vegetarian soya kabab tastes very close to the meat soya kabab.

This recipe can also use to make kabab without the use of soya, just skip the soya granules or chunks and use some other different variety of vegetables. Use organic soya granules that are highly recommended which is good for your health. Since soya chunks and soya granules are good processed food for your health so use this twice per week. 

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 Sweet potatoes (or) normal potatoes in a medium-size
  • 1 ½ cups of soya granules or soya chunks or 
  • ½ cups of green peas
  • 1 spoon of ginger garlic paste
  • Salt as needed
  • 1 spoon of coriander powder
  • 1spoon of garam masala
  • ½ spoon of red chili powder
  • ½ spoon of pepper
  • ¼ spoon of amchur
  • 2 spoon of the roasted bean
  • 1 to 2 spoon oil

The preparation process of soya kabab recipe

  1. Boil the green peas and potatoes just until done without turning them into mushy.
  2. Add soya in the hot water and soak it until it gets softened. Squeeze the excess water and rinse them twice with the cool water and again squeeze it well to remove the excess water. If you are using chunks means you can mix this in a mixer for a few mins to get granules.
  3. Roast the flour until it becomes aromatic.
  4. Mash all the vegetables and mix soya and ginger garlic paste along with them.
  5. Add all ingredients except oil and mix it well. If the mixture gets too sticky or crumbly then add a little more amount of besan.
  6. Divide the dough and make 9 equal pieces. Roll on to the grill or skewers for about 4 inches long.
  7. Grease your pressure pan and heat. Heat it to 220 degrees Celsius for about 15 minutes.
  8. Place them and grill well. Grill for about 30 minutes and once they are half done; place a sliced piece of onion on the grill for a smoky flavor.
  9. When the kebabs become golden in color, increase the flame to a maximum level and grill for a few more minutes. 
  10. Serve hot soya kebab with lemon wedges, tomato chutney or with onion chutney.
