Use of Mirrors as an Element of Design

by Sam Wagner Prodigg Bathrooms Public & Wholesale Supplier

Mirrors can make space look bigger and that's a cool trick, but mirrors are more than just one-trick ponies. Wall mirrors Melbourne can also be used as a production tool to assist in achieving any look they seek to achieve. When properly used a mirror may provide a distinction or balance. Often, it may unify a space or act as the emphasis. It is necessary to ensure, however, that the scale and proportion are in harmony with the setting.

Below are only a few of the many ways people can use mirrors as an element of design:

·         Suspended Mirror: Mirror is suspended from the ceiling and acts as the focal point of the room while providing insight and contrast. The mirror is also practical, however, helping to differentiate the two back-to-back vanities and allowing the users on either side to display it at the same time as required. Additionally, the mirror is low enough for people of almost any height to use, but it's also high enough to avoid water splashing.

·         Tile-Surround Mirror: This is only one of the attractions of vanity in the home master bath. The mirrors feature an iridescent glass mosaic pattern, with a diamond crystal frame on their edges. Within this small space with high ceilings, the mirror is the attention-grabber, and the sconces are positioned slightly above eye level to balance the atmosphere and attract the eye upwards.

·         Mirrored Closet Doors: The walk-in closet home, the antique door leading into the walk-in, has antique mirror closet doors. This touch of glamour from the old-world adds just enough bling to make the space glamorous without gaudy.

·         Mirror as Unifier: The mirror unifies the other components of the space in the powder room. It brings out the faucet’s polished chrome and crystal handles and the chromium-light spotlight. The mirror also shows the walls and countertop soft greys, as well as the style in the charcoal drawings.

·         A Wall of Mirrors: It could look like a commercial building lobby. Using a mirror wall, it plays on the pattern design feature, which adds a different level of interest to the room and enhances the regular pattern on the floor and cabinet.

·         A Mirrored Wall: The horizontal and vertical lines within the mirror wall help define this elegant room and concentrate attention on the sink and toilet wall-mounted. As well, the mirrored wall helps bounce the natural light around the room.
