UPESEAT 2017 Exam Pattern gives an idea about the exam pattern and questions asked in the examination, duration of the examination and other details. The candidates must go through the UPESEAT 2017 Exam Pattern and Syllabus before appearing for the examination so as to get an idea about the aptitude test. The examination will be held for duration of 3 hours.
UPESEAT 2017 Syllabus/EXAM PATTERN-
The examination will be held for duration of 3 hours.
The questions will be multiple choice questions.
The examination will consist of 5 sections including mathematics, physics, chemistry, English language and current affairs awareness.
The candidates will be awarded 1 mark for every correct answer while for every incorrect answer, no mark will be deducted. There is no negative marking.
A total of 200 questions will be asked in the examination comprising of the sections as mentioned under-

Candidates who get selected through UPES Engineering Aptitude test will have to attend the centralized counseling procedure further.
After the counseling and document verification is done, candidates will be given admission to their respective programme.
UPESEAT SYLLABUS-
The syllabus will consist of questions asked from class 11th and 12th in physics, chemistry and mathematics. English will consist of grammar and comprehensions. In addition, current affairs need to be studied as well.
MATHEMATICS-
Sets, relations and functions, complex numbers, quadratic equations, permutations and combinations, binomial theorem and its applications, sequences and series, matrices and determinants, differential equations, 2D geometry, 3D geometry, vector algebra, measures of central tendency and dispersion, probability, trigonometry, statics and dynamics.
PHYSICS-
Units and measurement, laws of motion, work, energy and power, gravitation, solids and fluids, oscillations, waves, description of motion in one dimension, description of motion in 2 and 3 dimensions, rotational motion and moment of inertia, heat and thermodynamics, transference of heat, electrostatics, current electricity, magnetostatics, thermal and chemical effects of current, electromagnetic induction and alternating currents, ray optics, wave optics, electromagnetic waves, electrons and photons, atoms, molecules and nuclei and solid and semi-conductor devices.
CHEMISTRY-
Some basic concepts, states of matter, solutions, atomic structure, chemical equilibrium, redox reactions and electrochemistry, rates of chemical reactions and chemical kinetics, surface chemistry, chemical bonding and molecular structure, chemistry of non-metals, chemistry of lighter metals, heavy metals and nuclear chemistry.
