UNDERSTANDING MEDICARE ADVANTAGES
The United
States of America launched a social security program called Medicare. It seeks
to provide health insurance to people above the age of sixty-five. People with
permanent disabilities or permanent kidney failure are also covered under this.
It helps them meet their health care costs.
But some costs
are not covered under Original Medicare (Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B)
offered by the government. It is, therefore, prudent to invest in Medicare
advantage plans, New Jersey.
Medicare can be
classified as follows:
● Medicare Part
A or Hospital Insurance for Inpatient Care.
● Medicare Part
B or Medical Insurance for Outpatient Healthcare.
Together,
Medicare Part A and Medicare Part B comprise Original Medicare. They will cover
most of the health care costs that you may incur.
● Medicare Part
C or Medicare Advantage.
● Medicare Part
D or Prescription Drug Plans
MEDICARE PART A
Medicare Part A
will cover Hospital Insurance for inpatient care in hospitals and nursing
facilities. An inpatient is one who has been admitted formally to a hospital,
with a doctor's order.
MEDICARE PART B
Medicare Part B
will cover Medical Insurance for outpatient care from doctors or other service
providers. It is essential to note that emergency overnight stays in hospitals
without a doctor's order do not make you qualify for being an inpatient.
Even for
inpatients, the staying and room charges will be covered by Medicare Part A,
while the other healthcare costs, the doctor's service charges, will be covered
by Medicare Part B.
MEDICARE PART C
Medicare Part C
refers to the Medicare
advantage plans, New Jersey that can be obtained by paying
an additional premium. It connects with Original Medicare, which is Medicare
Part A and Medicare Part B. Your Medicare Services will be paid through
Medicare Advantage and not through the Original Medicare.
Some of
the best Medicare
advantage plans are being increasingly opted for in New Jersey. They
offer coverage to a majority of healthcare services that were left out by the
Original Medicare.
Healthcare
services like vision, dental services, wellness programs, hearing services, and
care for chronic illnesses come under your health insurance scope. Medicare advantage plans New Jersey also
help cover the cost of transportation to the doctor and adult-day care
facilities.
Only people who
have Medicare Parts A and B and do
not have End-stage Renal Disease (ESRD) can apply for Medicare
Advantage Plans.
Most Medicare
Advantage plans in New Jersey will also cover
over-the-counter medications and prescription drugs covered under Medicare Part
D.
If you choose to
enrol for Medicare Part D (Prescription Drug Coverage) separately, you will
have to return to your Original Medicare after being disenrolled from your
Medicare Advantage Plan. Medigap or Medicare Supplement Policies do not work
with Medicare Advantage either.
MEDICARE PART D
Medicare Part D
offers Prescription Drug Coverage. It provides more excellent coverage than the
Medicare Advantage Plans.
Some Medicare
Advantage Plans do not offer any drug coverage. It, then, becomes essential to
enrol for Medicare Part D to meet the rising prescription drug costs.
