Twitter, Inc. Talks About Lightning Project and User Growth
The company is taking its focus off the CEO search for a while and moving it to growing its active daily users.Two fresh things Twitter, Inc. will be announcing this year is the launch of Project Lightning and its Advertising Campaign. In comparison to the social media network share price last year, it is down by 48% and along with improving its monthly active user and increase its users base, the social media firm is also in the middle of looking for a new Chief Executive Officer, which seems to be going nowhere even after three months of pondering.
The social media website has been on the news for quite some time now with its main headline being the search for a permanent CEO; apart from there have been talks about its new Lightning Project. This is a new tool that the social media firm is releasing, which is to enhance the user experience and is supposed to make Twitter convenient for its users and attract new users to the social media site.
In a statement, the company’s Chief Finance Officer stated that the reason why many people avoid using and do not like to use Twitter because they do not know how to use it. The company’s editors are working on the Lightning Project to make the user experience easy to use. The editors are looking for things that are important to users; they are observing numerous users who are tweeting every day and in light with those editors are trying to create a unique experience. With the help of users, the firm is looking to make Twitter simple and easy.
Along with the Lightning Project, the other project the social media is working for is its social media advertising campaign. This new advertising strategy is believed to be the social media firm’s biggest marketing push and will likely be able to generate profits for the firm. The fact that the firm does acknowledge the lack of retaining its users and attracting them is predicted to change in the near future. The CFO, Anthony Noto, said that the company has hired a creative, television advertising and digital agency and they have planned to include the advertising campaign in its Project lightning.
The CFO further added to this that they are planning on investing profoundly in advertising on television and on video marketing as well saying that they are going to make Twitter popular and new for the market through television to make people aware of the new way in which Twitter will be used.
About growing the active users, Mr. Noto said that the growth that they are expecting will be seen when the 70% of the people who do not use Twitter right now are satisfied and in order to achieve that he added that an essential change in the marketing and product will be needed to do so.
