The Tszyu vs Morgan Sydney Superfight is the biggest boxing event in Sydney this decade.

Paul Gallen is “really confident” he will be able to take down UFC great Mark Hunt as the pair meet in a double-header boxing extravaganza co-headlined by Tim Tszyu at Sydney’s Bankwest Stadium on December 16.

Hunt, AKA the Super Samoan, in one of UFC biggest hitters. Known for his incredible power and accuracy, he has regularly knocked out opponents throughout his UFC, MMA & Pride Fighting career. Paul Gallen has not lost a bout in his 10-fight career with 9 wins and a controversial draw in his highly publicised fight against Barry Hall.

The Sydney Super Fight is being billed as the biggest boxing event in the decade in the city with plans for a large live crowd and the Event.

Hunt had 18 UFC appearances for eight wins, eight losses and a draw and has only competed twice in the boxing arena with his last bout coming in 2000.

“We’ll have a beer afterwards,” Hunt said.

“I feel like Paul is a hard man and a strong guy.”

Gallen has plenty of experience on the NRL friend along with his time in the ring but Hunt is not all that impressed.

New South Wales Minister for Jobs, Investment, Tourism and Western Sydney, Stuart Ayres, welcomed the event, saying it would deliver more than $1 million to the tourism economy. 

“Sydney Super Fight joins an impressive list of major sporting events that have been secured for our state through the NSW Government’s tourism and major events agency, Destination NSW,” Ayres said.
