Perfectly prepared peach pie, peach salsa, and even peach ice cream can be found in our nation’s 13th colony. Fried chicken, pimento cheese, and fried green tomatoes are all made with love in Georgia, which is known for its comfort food classics. Barbeque in Georgia is a way of life, and the state is well-known for its unbeatable pulled pork and beef brisket.

Georgia offers 47 state parks for outdoor recreation like kayaking, white water rafting, and hiking, and the state’s beautiful natural scenery has been featured in several movies and television shows. The state is home to stunning gardens you can tour filled with local flora and fauna, and scenic golf courses offer a place play surrounded by natural beauty.

Budget Friendly

There’s plenty of places in this state to explore southern charm on a shoestring budget. Multiple cities in Georgia offer walking tours that are super affordable, some of them even claiming to be haunted. Georgia’s first city of Savannah has one of the largest historic districts in the country, one that begs to be perused on a leisurely stroll. The historic sights and museums alone could keep you occupied for days and is a surprisingly inexpensive place to vacation.

Vibrant Art Scene

Georgia is full of energizing, lively cities, and Atlanta, in particular, is known for its vibrant art scene. For decades, Atlanta has been home to several revolutionary musicians over the years. Colorful, artful graffiti is cropping up in the city, as Atlanta strives to push boundaries in the art world. Many of these murals were commissioned as part of “Living Walls,” a nonprofit dedicated to serving the community. Several successful tattoo artists are also making Georgia their home base, amassing thousands of followers on social media who flock to the state to get works of art permanently etched onto their skin.
