To Help Your Child Learn, Keep Them Active!

by Michael O Norton Forex Trader
If you want to help your child become a better learner, keep them active! Physical activity helps develop children's brains as well as their bodies.

Researchers have proved that children who are active, who play team games, participate in physical activities of some kind, not only learn more when they are being active but retain more of what they learn for a longer time than children who are less active.

Helene Goldnadel says that children need three sets of learning skills; physical, emotional, and cognitive. Physical learning skills make up the first, and most important set of skills a child needs, without these it is very difficult for a child to develop the other two sets of skills.

Physical learning skills are the skills that allow children use their body and brain in ways that promote learning. They includes such skills as good eyesight and good eye movements, good hearing and good listening, good running and good sitting.  Without these skills children cannot begin to learn.

Lack of good visual skills prevents children taking in information through their eyes.
Lack of good aural skills stop children learning from what they hear.
Lack of good motor skills mean that children may never write well enough to be understood, or sit long enough to take in information.

Active children are more likely to have developed the physical learning skills they need and are therefore more likely to learn more, and remember what they have learned for a longer time.

Make sure that your child does something active today. Go for a walk, run for a bus, and even take the garbage out!!
