Tips to Prepare for the UPSC Preliminary Examination 2017

The UPSC has released the UPSC Application Form 2017 and has invited eligible and intelligent candidates to fill the Application Form. The total number of posts for this recruitment are 980. UPSC IAS examination is one of the toughest examination conducted in India and a large number of candidates fill this application form every year. The last date of filing the UPSC Application form is 17th March 2017. The candidates who have filled up the Application form are now looking for the UPSC Civil Services Admit Card 2017. The candidates are informed that the UPSC Civil Services Admit Card 2017 will be uploaded on the official website 10 to 15 days before the date of the examination.


The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts Civil services examinations every year. It is classified into two parts, Preliminary Examination which is also called Civil Services Aptitude Test (CSAT). It is also the toughest part to crack in the whole selection process. Civil Services Preliminary Examination Consists of two Papers Paper 1 and Paper 2. Both Papers consists of 200 Marks and the maximum time allotted for each paper is two hours. The one paper is for General Studies and the second paper is for General Aptitude.


The Candidates who going to take part in this examination will be judged on the basis of some essential qualities which includes the power of retention, ability to recognise the correct alternative with efficiency and accuracy clarity of concepts. The candidates need to get updated with the current affairs. For this, they should read newspaper, magazines etc. They should focus on important happenings and the persons.

Before starting your preparation it is preferred to have a good knowledge of the syllabus so that you could cover each and every topic. There are so many websites which provide syllabus and exam pattern for UPSC Civil Services Examination. You need to visit those sites for the clear knowledge of the syllabus.


Solve Previous Years Question Papers

Candidates need to solve the previous year question papers. It is very beneficial as you can get to know about the type and pattern of questions asked. You can also judge yourself by solving these questions papers. Try to solve the paper within the time allotted in the paper.
