For instance, if your artwork’s frame is glass printed then special boxes and packing material will be required. To protect the corners you will have to buy corner protectors and for small sculptures you can go for bubble wrap, thick sheets and packing peanuts.

- Such possessions are precious so make sure you buy good quality packing material so that your stuff is protect while loading, during the transit and while unloading. Cheap packing material easily gets torn out while lifting and transporting. Here is the list of packing supplies you will need:

Bubble wraps

Corner protectors

4. Start packing

When you have gathered all the packing supplies then it’s time to start with packing.

- To move paintings

If you are moving paintings then wrap them with soft fabric sheets and then tie it softly with the help of packing rope. Then put them in the boxes and make them stand in upright position.

- Use two boxes to pack single artwork

Use double boxing method of packing for your fragile and delicate pieces of artwork. Pack them in smaller boxes first and then put the smaller box in the larger ones to double box your valuable possessions.

- Use wooden crates for sculptures

Sculptures are delicate to touch so it is important to pack them in wooden crates so that they are protected from any kind of damage. They provide excellent protection when your goods are in transit.

- For unframed pieces

If any of your artwork doesn’t have glass then you will have to take some extra measures to protect the canvas as bubble wrap can sticks to the pain and make your canvas look fade. There is a high risk if you put the bubble wrap directly on the canvas so you will have to protect the canvas with acid-free glassine paper. Then it is safe enough to be covered with the bubble wrap and cardboard box or wooden crate. Find a place where you can store your artwork on temporary basis.

- Label each box

Once all the boxes and crates have been wrapped then label them and mark them properly

5. Store things in a safe place

If there is some gap for your belongings to be shipped then keep them at a safe place so that they are safe from any kind of dirt and dust.
