Tips for ordering customized t-shirts

by Artik Toronto Custom Promotional Products

Working at a screen printing shop, I’ve met a lot of Canadians looking to print their logo, message or design on custom t-shirts. I’ve printed shirts for everyone! From the smallest startup to some of the largest companies and organizations in the world. Everyone wants the same thing – a good price, comfy tees and a high quality screen print. They also wanna be treated well and assisted through the process.

This article breaks down some of the people who are ordering custom t-shirts:

Schools and Universities

From elementary school through high schools to Colleges and Universities, many schools use custom printed tees to promote themselves and build unity amongst students and staff.

Tip: Wear custom tees to college fairs to give a more professional look to your booth and attract new students.

Tip:  For younger kids, get creative with colours and designs. Older students may prefer simple and fashionable t-shirt designs.

Film Festivals

If you’re running a film festival in Canada, custom printed t-shirts can give your volunteers a professional look and let them stand out amongst the crowds.

Tip: Consider selling t-shirts with your film fest logo or a unique design on it. Audiences love supporting their local theatre community!

Large Companies

We’ve printed tees for some of the world’s largest companies. These companies order tees for sales staff to promote a new initiative, for service staff behind the scenes as company uniforms and some large brands sell or giveaway custom printed tee shirts to their loyal customers.

Tip: Give tees away as social media prizes to attract new likes, email subscriptions and followers to your brand.

Startups

Small to medium sized new businesses need custom printed t-shirts too! They’ll order tees as affordable employee uniforms or give them out to early customers to build support and awareness.

Tip: If people don’t know your brand, a descriptor on your t-shirt can help make the tees more informative to new customers.

Unions

Unions and trade organizations need custom tees for their meetups, collective action and to show support and unity amongst members.

Tip:  Ordering a custom tee for a specific event is a way to show powerful unity and give a voice to your union members. Remember to order extra tees in larger sizes for attendees and supporters.

Marketing Companies

If you’re working on a new ad campaign or marketing initiative, custom printed t-shirts are a great way to attract attention and look great to your clients. A custom tee designed for your latest campaign can include a call to action, build awareness for a charitable initiative a brand is taking on and make the whole campaign look more professional.

Tip:  Colourful screen-printed tees that match a company’s brand and aesthetic will help draw attention and let people know who you’re representing.

Charities

Many charities, non-profits and NGOs order custom printed tees to promote themselves and find new monthly donors. An iconic design, like the pink ‘Because I’m a Girl’ t-shirts or green ‘Greenpeace’ t-shirts help draw attention and let people know who you are.

Tip:  Consider more artistic designs for your t-shirts. For example, if you’re running an environmental charity, put illustrations of animals on the t-shirt instead of your plain logo.

Final Tips for Custom T-Shirts

Choose a reliable screen-printing shop and call them up to make sure they’re helpful and friendly. Check their site to ensure they have a great t-shirt selection and competitive (but not suspiciously cheap!) prices.

No matter what project, brand or organization you’re working on, custom printed t-shirts are an affordable way to get attention and look professional.
