Once you’ve purchased timeshare, but don’t want to keep it forever, you will have to make a useful strategy to exit the timeshare. But, what are your chances of getting out of a timeshare if everyone around you has the same plan? You have options of selling, renting, donating or transferring the timeshare title.

• Although you have few options to get out of your vacation club dispute, you can first opt for your right to rescission. However, you can only apply for this within some days of your timeshare purchase. Usually the rescission duration can be between 3-14 days that is also specifically mentioned in your  contract.

• If you can’t get out of your property dispute by exercising your right to rescission, second option for you is to give it back to the resorts. This however is a rare thing to happen, since resorts make money by your paid amount for timeshare; and they might not take it back unless you offer them a great deal.

• You can also sell your timeshare ; though always remember that there are many resort owners like you in the resale market, who could be even trying to get rid of their timeshares by selling them to you. This means that your chances of selling the timeshare in the resale market become slimmer and you may have to struggle to get rid of it.

• You can also opt to rent your vacation club in order to generate considerably enough income to pay your annual maintenance fee and other related fees.

• If any of the above listed ideas don’t work for you, you can always donate your timeshare  to a charity. When nothing else works, you don’t care how much you will get for it; just give it away and you won’t have to be responsible for it anymore. However, the other side of the story is that timeshares are considered liabilities and not valuable assets; so most charities wont’ accept these liabilities.
