Time to Make Changes
EPL is looking tougher and un-predictable than ever. Transfer
Window is open now, Title holders Chelsea are struggling even in the presence
of player like Pedro and Falcao and on the other hand, United who have spent a
great deal of money of young blood is still failing to find the replacement of
Ronaldo.
It could not have been any better for Leicester's coach
Raenieri as his team has performed consistently this season and have beaten
many popular teams. As January has arrived Leicester has tried to strengthen
their squad by signing midfielder Daniel Amartey from FC Copenhagen.
Determined to win the league and be a part of the champions
league campaign, Leicester wants to leave no stone unturned. With Vardy getting
goals regularly, Leicester can hope to be in the top four of the BPL table this
season, if not winning the league.
Meanwhile West Ham, who had been playing good this season
have also strengthened their squad by signing full back Sam Byram from Leeds.
Also West Ham Unitedare hopeful of landing controversial Liverpoolstriker Mario
Balotelli, according to the Brentwood Gazette. Reports from Italy suggest that
AC Milan may terminate Balotelli's temporary loan deal and therefore he might
be available. Thus, the other teams must be careful with the threat West ham
would possess with Balotteli and Caroll in the penalty box.
The most expensive signing this January has been done by
Newcastle United's signing of Shelvey from Swansea. This season has seen a
dismal performance from the Newcastle team. With a dire need to stay on the
premier league for the next season and prevent themselves from being relegated,
they were forced to do this major signing. Hope this would bring a new spark of
hope for them.
Elsewhere Chelsea has been trying their best to sign
Alexander Pato in order to strengthen their squad for the European
championship. With a poor performance in the league this season followed by the
sacking of Mourinho, the newly shaped Chelsea under Hiddink would try their best
to reach the quarter finals of Champions League. Pato had scored more than
sixty goals for AC Milan in the 150 matches he played for them and has also
lifted the Italian League in the year 2011 with them.
Brazilian Alex Teixeira has been a target of Liverpool this
January. To add to the joy of Klopp and the Liverpool supporters, Alex himself
has asked his club Shakhtar that he wants to leave the club this month itself.
Shakhtar, meanwhile, had rejected a 24.6m bid for the 26-year-old last week but
Liverpool is ready to put in more cash for Alex. Also Chelsea has an eye on him
as they try to strengthen their squad this season. Alex has scored 22 goals for
Shakhtar in 15 league games so far this season and Shakhtar are not ready to
sell him until at least this summer. They value the 26-year-old at 38m and will
not sell him for any other amount less than that.
Soccer is a feeling you cannot succeed in soccer by spending good money you have to build a time not to buy a team. Let's see what changes we're going to see in this year's transfer window.
