The most famous of all the ferocious beasts, our National Animal and every wild life traveler’s favorite sight – Tiger, is what makes Kanha and Pench known to the world. Tigers have always been creating lasting memories on the minds of people of all age groups. They are known to catch prey at lightning speed and leave a herd scared to death. Since tigers remain in the most densely forested areas, an ambush or a streak of tigers protecting their cubs from human eye is a rare spectacle. This is so because tigers are essentially solitary, especially when it comes to hunting a prey.

Kanha and Pench National Park are also known as Kiplings jungle as Rudyard Kipling’s most famous work – Jungle Book was pictured there and the nearby forests.  Kanha national park is spread across 940 Sq Km in a horse shoe shaped valley. For commuting to Kanha National Park as well as Pench National Park, you can take a flight, bus or a train, as it is well connected to rest of the country. Pench National Park is situated along the northern boundary of the Nagpur and adjoining area of Chindwara and Seoni Districts of Madhya Pradesh.

Pench national park gets its name from the Pench River running across the national park. It has astonishing ecological productivity. Along with tigers, Pench also has a good population of leopards. Kanha national reserve had around 136 tigers till recent past.

The forest department provides a guided tour across the mapped out circuit of the national Parks to give the tourists a memorable view of the wildlife. In Kanha, other than tigers, blackbucks, chital and barasingha’s can been seen wandering in the meadows throughout the day. Kanha is made up of two erstwhile sanctuaries Halon and Banjar. It is the largest national reserve in the central India.

The panoramic beauty of these reserves    and the wildlife riches they hold, make these extremely intriguing. The ecology these national parks have absorbed in them makes them wealthier than any other national reserve across the globe. The tigers which prowl in the jungle are living a world where they are safe and far from getting extinct and till the time we have reserves like Kanha and Pench National Parks, we can save these largest mane less members of the cat family.

Tigers are amongst the most elusive and efficient predators, because of their solitary character, they are known to be secretive. These national Parks, which serve as the natural habitat for the tigers is a blessing for animal lovers. People from world over visit Kanha National park and Pench National Park to witness the braveries other animals display while living with pench tiger reserves and trying to escape from being their prey.

These national parks serve as the best vacation destinations across the globe. The cat-family fans make sure they visit this place to treat their eyes with the sporadic episodes of the tiger roaring in the natural habitat. Tiger truly is a symbol of grace, strength, intelligence and power and it also symbolizes India’s wealth of wildlife.
