This is How A Healthy Work Environment Looks Like
Waking up for work every morning can be difficult for some of us, especially if we aren’t happy with where we are. In today’s society, this situation is a harsh reality. Many are unhappy with their jobs because of their workmates, their bosses, or their environment.
The reason for getting a job is to earn a living, but it is also important that it helps you grow as a person by acquiring values from the company and working with people around you.
This, however, can be far too ideal, and in some scenarios, you only get one of them.
Unfortunately, businesses today are too obsessed with the processes to be followed, the roles that need to be filled, and the hierarchy in general. Some employees even put up a façade when conversing with their officemates and have a robotic voice when in front of their bosses.
Imagine a workplace that can feel like a home, with a family that strives for the same goals as you. An environment where you won’t mind spending over time in just to hang out more with your colleagues.
Can Such a Place Even Exist?
With sociocracy and holacracy, this can be realized.
In sociocracy, your opinions and needs are taken into account by the company. You’ll feel a sense of belongingness in actually being able to contribute to decisions – big or small. This is because power is vested not only in one person, but all members of the organization. Everyone is equally important.
In holacracy, meanwhile, you aren’t stuck with just one role. Everyday can be a learning adventure as you can fill many roles in different teams. This greatly increases productivity and camaraderie in the workplace.
When these two go hand-in-jand, it can build a positive organization with diversity, composed of leaders and friends. Wouldn’t it be a place you would want to be in?
