A real estate development is a heavy investment on the part of the builder. It takes a lot of time and effort to reap the benefits from the investment made in real estate development. This is the reason why builders put on all their concentration in enhancing the value of the property. In doing so, an area they give special attention is the perfection in masonry. It is not unknown to anybody that most part of India comes under the sub-tropical geophysical category. As a result, the level of humidity rises during the summer and monsoon, which causes a lots of problems in masonry. Worthy to mention among these problems is the issue of water leakage in the buildings. Water leakage, in a few years, can cause havoc by letting moss and fungi to set in on the walls. Here are three things you must know if you want to protect your construction from the menace of water leakage.

1. In most cases, the problem of water leakage start from the seepage of water particles through pores in the walls and the gaps between the tiles on the floors. At the initial stage, the seepage may not be visible to normal eyes. As a result, the people residing in the house may be unaware of such an issue of water seepage for quite a few months until the issue increases to a bigger proportion So, it is the duty of builder to keep an eye on the water seepage issue of the construction. Even a small water seepage should be taken seriously and due measures be taken to control the seepage from turning into a major leakage.

2. You can prevent water leakages by utilising quality products while building the property. Quality adhesives should be used to fix the joints of pipelines and sewage system. Also, quality grout should be used to make the tiled floors in the kitchen and the bathroom.

3. Quality building materials might be a bit expensive when compared to other materials available in the market, but you must remember that the use of quality products would result in water proofing of the construction which will increase the value of your property among the premium customers.

4. You should consult with your architect to innovate building techniques. Instead of common brick walls, you can cover up the walls with stone cladding. Such measures might prevent the risk of water leakage in future.

5. You should also seek for technological solutions to make your building water proof. Today, high technology techniques are available in masonry. You just need to find the right engineer for that.
