Things you must try if you get travel anxiety

by Arjun Pal Student
It is presumed that for most people in this world, travel is therapeutic. Though there are a lot of wanderlusts, there is another category of being who feel anxious the moment they think about stepping out of the house. Though such individuals can avoid leisure travel, some chores like a job, seeing a doctor, or meeting friends occasionally does demand going outside their comfort zone. Moreover, not going out can aggravate the condition and might lead to something more serious like Agoraphobia. If you are someone who just gets cold feet every time someone mentions ‘let’s go out’, here are a few things that you can do to soothe the apprehension:
Create a travel playlist:
There is nothing in this world that a good melody cannot cure. Feeling happy? Listen to music. Feeling sad? Listen to music. Feeling nervous about someone sitting next to you on the bus seat? Plug those earphones in and forget the world. Selecting music on the go can feel overwhelming. So, it is ideal to have an ad-less playlist ready before you make a move.
Watch content:
Engaging your visual senses will force your brain to forge the external factors and focus only on the moment. So, if you are troubled thinking about the world outside, watching a good series like Scam 1992 will keep you engaged. If series is not your thing, sports is another alternative. Fond of a sport that you feel you can’t find online? You are wrong. OTT platforms like Sony Liv air Australian open live. Chances are that you’ll be so busy keeping a track of the AO live score that you might forget what was bothering you in the first place.
Read a book:
If you can’t watch or listen to something while traveling, remember that books are and always will be your best friend. In fact, you will not even need a good data connection for it!
Talk to someone:
Have you tried everything and yet feel very jittery while traveling? Start a conversation! Sometimes a random conversation with a random stranger can make you feel better, we are all social animals after all! If you are an introvert, call up a friend (even the long-lost ones will work). Just call someone who is a chatty Kathy and witness the time fly!
