Things to do in Tampa

by Lookup Fare Cheap flights are always available on Lookupfare
Florida is one of the sunniest states in the US. The clear skies — except for the occasional hurricanes — make the state ideal for everything outdoor. However, people who add Florida to their travel plans book flights to Orlando and Miami and seem to overlook the lesser known Tampa. A mistake that is understandable because of the fame that has been bestowed on the other two popular cities of Florida. It is a mistake, regardless. For Tampa is a water lover’s paradise.

The pleasant weather and warm sun is a constant in Tampa. The beaches are scenic and much less crowded than the other more famous cities around it. In addition, there seems to be an abundance of watersports that one can indulge in. The food is delicious too. A mix of Spanish and Cuban culture brings out a combination of flavors that makes your taste buds go crazy. The cultural roots in Tampa are stronger than the strongest rooted Oak trees. You don’t have to walk much on the streets of Tampa to come across something that will excite you beyond measure. Everything seems to be waiting to take you by surprise in Tampa. To pique your interest in this beautiful city, we bring to you a list of must do things in Tampa. So book a cheap flight to Tampa immediately and go indulge in the following:

Appreciate Marine life at The Florida Aquarium

Rated as one of the best aquariums in North America, The Florida Aquarium is a fun experience. Here, you can swim with sharks. How cool is that? Very, I would say. Anyway, other exhibitions include sea horses, green sea turtles, sting rays, clown fish, and moray eels. The aquarium also organizes regular wild dolphin sighting tours. Book a flight to Tampa and go swim with some of the most revered marine species.

Drive to Fort Desoto Park

Located just 35 miles from Tampa is the Fort Desoto Park. It takes barely 50 minutes to reach here. Time and distance aside, the drive is amazing. The Howard Frankland Bridge is a little over 3 miles long and connects Tampa to St. Petersburg. The bridge runs over Old Tampa Bay’s gorgeous calm waters. The drive itself is amazing but it doesn’t prepare you for what lies ahead at Fort Desoto Park. The park has dazzling white sandy beaches and we don’t mean sand that is closer to the shade of white than brown, we mean WHITE. Sunbathe at the beach or take a boat ride into the Gulf of Mexico, both are going to be a wonderful experience.

Enjoy a ride at Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is a world renowned amusement park. The first thing to do as soon as you enter the park is to rush to Falcon’s Fury. Falcon’s fury is one of the highest free standing drop towers in North America. The drop is 335 feet and moves 60 miles per hour. Apart from the rides, the park also houses animals such as giraffes and tigers. Another famous attraction right across the street from Busch Gardens Tampa Bay is the Adventure Island, which is home to tons of thrilling water rides. Head there after Busch Gardens Tampa Bay to beat the heat. Start your search for last minute flight deals and have an absolutely amazing time.
