by Natasha Manual Digital Marketing Specialist

There are many individuals who travel solo these days. There are solo female travelers as well. However, the first solo trip can be a bit of a nightmare, especially in the case of women. Worries such as safety and concerns about combating boredom create doubts on whether to travel solo in the first place. In this article, we have gleaned nuggets of advice from women solo travelers that we are sharing below.

#1: Perfect place

There is no perfect destination for a solo trip. Some of the factors that allow you to do a solo trip are the places that tug at your heartstrings, a place that speaks a language that you know, timing and your budget. Look out for places that make for cheap vacations if you are on a shoestring budget.

#2: Start small

If you have a plan to do many more solo trips hereafter, it is a good idea to get some practice. There are many things that you have to do on your own for a solo trip: food, travel, local transport, stay, etc. If you are not used to doing this beforehand, do a short trip first close to home. Get used to the dynamics of doing and managing things on your own. This will help you gain some experience. You can then look out for vacation packages that are advertised for solo women travelers.

#3: Diligent research

The fear of the unknown can take its toll. This is true especially when you are on a solo trip. To avoid this, it is a good idea to read up books and unravel all that you feel is mysterious. That little bit of reading is sure to take the scare away.

#4: Precautions

All solo travelers should take a few precautions. This is true more so in the case of female solo travelers. The precautions for a female solo traveler form a much longer list. If these precautions are not taken care of it is possible that an enjoyable vacation can turn into a nightmare that is best forgotten.

#5: Light travel

It is a good idea for any female solo traveler when on adventure vacation packages or otherwise to travel light. This saves you many a heartache. Also, be organized with your paperwork in terms of carrying your passport, visa, carrying sufficient currency, your cards, etc.

#6:  First-day blues

Do not waste the first day of arrival in the new place. Allow for jet-lag anyway. You can visit nearby places by having a concrete plan beforehand. A museum exhibition is ideal. You can also take some long walks to start a detailed tour on the next day.

Solo trips culminate as happy trips. However, there may be a few hiccups more than if you traveling in a group or with a partner. These can be avoided if you adhere to the above suggestions.
