by Manish Kumar Marketing Head

front-desk-at-ginger-indoreIndore, it is one of the very famous cities of India, situated in the state of Madhya Pradesh. It is the only city to have the campuses of both, IIT and IIM( a bit off the track, but it seems news !) Indore might not be one of the capital cities of India, but some really serious things happen here! Like it has the third oldest stock exchange market in India.

The campuses of IIT-IIM and the stock exchange may actually make a very serious face of this city. But actually, the city swears by its street food. Yes! Indore proudly carries the nickname as “ the street food capital of India”. It shouldn’t be a news if people just come over to the city to have the best of what this city is good at, food!

There is a good number of good hotels in Indore which proficiently take care of the guests and make them comfortable by offering fine accommodation which definitely adds up to enjoy everything that the city is made up of.

Speaking of food, Indore has been always glorified as the master of street foods. Well, it is definitely glorified for the right things. There is some who variety of street food items available in this city. Like, The Dahi Bada. It is supposed to be the hero of all the street food items available in Indore. The Vadas are soft and spongy with a dressing of enormous amount of dahi and masala. Tastes just perfect! Another street food item, which is actually a smart combination of two other food items, that is Poha-Jalebi. This amazing marriage of sour and sweet brings out a fabulous taste in the mouth. Similarly, some other famous snacks are Khatta Samosa( a samosa with a tangy twist), Moong Bhajiya (fabulous little moong daal pakodas), Maama Baati (Daddy of Gulab Jamun), Bhutte ki kees( fabulous tasting corn) and the list can go on and on.

Apart from enriching the taste buds, Indore is famous for Palaces like Rajwada Palace, Lal Bagh Palace and many beautiful lakes and recreational parks.

To include such amazing food items and places in one’s life, Indore is easily reachable by train. The hotels near the Indore railway station are perfect to stay at. Rather than wasting time looking for a hotel in the middle of the city, the ones right near the station are easily available and offer great rooms with all the amenities one would ask for while staying at a hotel. Thus, if not for sightseeing, Indore is a must visit for the love of food at least.
