Thermal Paper Printer Help Generate Cash Receipts in a Fast and Easy Way

by Pritam Singh Business

The use of POS (Point of Sale) thermal paper printers is becoming extremely popular across the retail landscape as more and more businesses are realizing the benefits of such billing systems. In business, saving of time is the same as saving of money and the use of thermal paper printers is saving a lot of time and money for the retail businesses that have adopted it. After all, they now spend a lot less time generating bills for their customers than what they were doing earlier when they had to write the receipts on pre-printed sheets.

This article reviews the benefits that a retailer gets by using a POS thermal paper printer to generate cash receipts instantly.

A fast and easy way to generate cash receipts

Today, a retailer using such a POS thermal paper printer, just needs to press a few keys on the printer to instantly generate the cash receipt. That’s a sea change from the way receipts were generated earlier when customers were required to wait for a long time at the cash counter while retailers made the receipts. However, they must ensure that they don’t run out of the POS thermal paper rolls while customers are waiting at the cash counter. For that they just need to contact a thermal paper printer supplier to order fresh stock.

Choose thermal paper rolls manufacturers carefully

Retailers using POS thermal paper printers need to be careful about where they source their thermal paper from because there are two types of thermal paper available – BPA (Bisphenol A)-coated and BPA-free. BPA is a toxic chemical solvent that is used to coat thermal paper which is needed for producing the print impression on the thermal paper. Printing on the thermal paper happens through heat transfer wherein no ink or ribbon is needed to produce the print output. Exposure to BPA is harmful for humans and hence retailers should avoid using thermal paper coated with BPA and choose the BPA-free thermal paper instead.

Not easy to change usage patterns

Thermal paper rolls manufacturers who argue that BPA-coated thermal paper should remain in use with user safety guidelines it is a question of people’s lives. While a customer can simply refuse to accept a thermal paper receipt at some POS locations, it is not possible in most other POS locations. Therefore, a thermal paper printer supplier must ensure that he supplies only BPA-free thermal paper to his customers.
