There Are So Many Benefits Of Polystyrene Mouldings
Have you been to any
well construct building recently? If you have, did you notice the decorative
element that joins the wall and the ceiling? It is nothing, but polystyrene
moulding decorated beautifully. Previously, these mouldings
were made of wood or Styrofoam, but after much experimentation, it was found
that polystyrene is the best for such mouldings. The use of mouldings is found
in various places such as bookshelves, showcases, cabinets and various other
furniture, but they are not used in ceilings.
Cost
less
One of the main reasons
why people have shifted towards polystyrene is because they are less expensive.
Polystyrene foam is much cheaper when compared to polyurethane or wood. Since
the manufacturing cost of polystyrene is less than other materials, the overall
cost also goes down. So, those who are looking for an inexpensive decorating
element can surely go for polystyrene
ceiling.
Easy
painting
It has often been
observed that mouldings other than polystyrene become difficult to paint.
Generally, the ones that are made of polystyrene have a white surface. White
goes well with most of the ceilings because 99% ceilings are white in color. When
you decide to paint the moulding in a different color, all you need to do is
apply water-based latex paint and let it dry. Once it dries, paint can be
applied quite easily. If the same thing had to be done on wooden mouldings, it
would have been a lengthier process and the paint would not have stayed on for
many years.
Easily
mountable
Another big advantage
of polystyrene mouldings is you can mount them easily on different surfaces. Be
it plastic, concrete, granite, steel, vinyl, tile, marble or wood, polystyrene
would stick to anything and everything. Because of the high versatility of this
material, it is considered the best amongst all the available moulding
materials. Also, the fact that they are found in a wide variety of designs makes
them superior than the rest. If you wish to get one for your room and you see a
plethora of designs, you will be in a fix as to which one to choose and which
one to leave. However, the design you choose should also be compatible with the
room. Suppose, you have an angled or sloped ceiling, then vaulted mouldings
would be best for that room. Similarly, other designs would suit other
ceilings. It would be best if you consult with the store where you place the
order of the moulding.
