The Sun Definitely Smiles at the ones who visit Ahmedabad

by Manish Kumar Marketing Head

Ahmedabad might not be the capital of Gujarat but still holds a lot of importance and popularity to itself. It is the city of vast exploration with the zest of positive energy and zeal. People of the city are full of life and have made sure that the air carries the same energy too.

One thing for which Ahmedabad is known for the most is the Sabarmati Aashram. It used to be the Father of the Nation, that is, Mahatma Gandhi’s residence. It was actually one of the residences of his whole life. But one of the main, where he stayed during the most crucial point of the struggle for the independence of India. The Sabarmati Ashram has been the sole reason for many to visit Ahmedabad. The Sabarmati Ashram is now basically a museum with some of the most unique artefacts brought down from the era struggle for India’s independence.

The energy of the city swells exponentially if witnessed during the times when Gujarat’s two most famous festivals are celebrated. One is the Uttarayan. It is a beautiful festival of kite-flying. It is celebrated on either 14th January or on 15th January of every year. It is basically a festival dedicated to the sun. It is said that the days become longer from these days onwards as the earth tilts around these dates and the amount of sunlight reaching the state is just perfect. This beautiful aspect of nature is celebrated with the flying of kites. On these two days, the sky definitely looks like a canvas with the colours filled in with beautiful shades of the colours of the kites. The other one is the Navratri. It is the most amazing festival celebrated in the whole of Gujarat. Thus Ahmedabad shall do proper justice to it. It is pious festival of nine days, dedicated to the Goddess Durga. The fanciest way of expressing happiness during these 9 days is by doing the famous dance of Gujarat, that is, Garba. The
cultural zest is of some other level during those 9 days.

The tourism is a big thing in Ahmedabad. For which accommodation facilities have been maintained as the top of its class. The hotels in Ahmedabad make sure that the guests include the hotel as one of their “things to do” for whenever they visit the city next.

Other than the touristic spots in Ahmedabad, like Adalaj Stepwell, Sidi Saiyyed Mosque etc., one of the interesting ones is the Manek Chowk. With hours of the day, it changes its face. In the morning the open square is a vegetable market, in the afternoon it is a jewellery market and at night it shimmers with food!

Ahmedabad is easily reachable by air. Coming to this city by air has a plus point. Hotels in Ahmedabad, near the airport are too good. They are one-stop shop for all sorts of tourists.
