Since ancient times, pharmacy has been known to be the branch of Ayurveda which means health-care. Now, the regulations of pharmacy have made huge developments in production as well as research. Its attained a self determining position as pharma sciences around all stages in the development of product of a medicine, from its identification, innovation, purity, action, development, security, action, formulation, quality check, application, storage, packaging, marketing, etc. Therefore, the pharma professionals are drug specialists in true sense.

In our country, the Pharma education, the Higher Secondary passed along with PCB or PCM 
Students are eligible for the courses like D Pharm. All the institutions offering courses in Pharma are regulated by mainly 2 bodies which are All India Council of Technical Education & Pharmacy Council of India.

Scope for diploma students 
The Diploma students can opt for below hospital jobs in India

i. Community pharmacy, Retail medical shop
ii. Wholesale pharma or whole sale of medicines 
iii. Pharmacist in Hospitals which means that they can join any hospital as a pharmacist 
iv. They can also join as lab technicians in any Degree teaching schools
v. They are eligible for getting direct-admission to B. Pham 2nd year
vi. They may work as Medical representatives for any medicine Company 
vii. They may work as production assistants in the department of production

Scope for Pharma Graduates

Pharma graduates have good chances of finding hospital jobs in India. They can find jobs in the field of marketing, production, academia and regulatory-affairs. Government as well as private, both the sectors are absolutely open with a number of job-opportunities and they also pay good salaries. 

i) Hospital pharmacy

Registered Pharmacists may work in any of the hospitals or even medical stores. Retail pharmacy has a good demand in Canada and U.S.A. It is a significant position and a pharmacist has a very significant role to play in supply of medicines, maintaining the data of patients as well as their profiles.

ii) Community pharmacy

Pharmacist is nothing but a connection between patient, production, and the physician.

Duties of pharmacists

The pharmacists are the main people who concern the patients regarding usage of drugs as well as dosage-forms, storage conditions, etc. They provide the detail info about medicines, storage & the medicines should be handled. They need to know the detailed history of the patients as well as genetic issues.
