The recipe of Ghee Rice, a globally famous dish

Ghee rice is a simply delicious dish that can be made within half an hour. All the ingredients needed for this recipe are easily found into our kitchen. The dish can be served with both veg and non-veg dishes. Ghee rice is a popular dish in Asian and Middle East cuisines but now people globally like the dish. The main ingredients are ghee and rice but to make it tasty you will need some spices.


Process of making Ghee Rice

First, heat some oil in a pan and fry finely sliced onion. Next add salt in half fried onion and keep stirring. Keep it on flame for some time and then squeeze the excess water from it, repeat the action for twice. Keep it aside. This will be used for garnishing.

Now heat some Milkio ghee in the cooking pan and when it is melted add some cashew and raisins. Keep the flame at low otherwise the dry fruits may get burned. When they are nicely golden brown, keep them aside in a different container.Again add some ghee into the same pan and now add cardamom, cloves, cinnamon stick, and fennel seeds to the same pot. Saute for a while till the flavor comes out. Now add the sliced onion and add rice to the mix and stir well. Let it cook for 8-10 minutes. It’s time to add 4-5 cups of boiled water and mix well. Close the lid of the pot and cook in a low flame until the entire water gets dried up. Now transfer the ghee rice to a serving plate and garnish it with fried onion, cashews, and raisins. Ghee Rice needs to be served with a side dish.
