The Pursuit of Beauty: High-Tech Body Contouring Treatments

by Andy Cheng Director

Non-surgical body contouring and fat-reducing treatments have surged in popularity the past few years because of its effectiveness and the convenience of undergoing the treatment with minimal downtime.

In addition, the recent news about liposuction-related deaths have made people think twice before undergoing a surgical treatment to reduce fatty deposits in the body.

As we become occupied with work and family, we tend to put less emphasis on exercise and watching our diet. Busy workplace schedules are a major cause of unhealthy eating habits. People tend to eat light meals for lunch and indulge in a heavy dinner when they get home late at night, eating food laced with oil and sugar.

How to lose weight?

Accumulation of too much stubborn fats can be unhealthy. It reduces the quality of life and increases the risk of illnesses and heart-related diseases.

To combat stubborn fatty deposits in the body due to unhealthy lifestyle, people are searching for body contouring devices that are both safe and effective. Body contouring treatments work well only if we are already watching our diet and exercising regularly at the gym.

Body contouring treatments are not meant to be a substitute for regular exercise and healthy diet. Such treatments are supposed to work hand-in-hand with a healthy lifestyle to achieve a beneficial outcome for you.

Types of fat-reducing treatments

There are several types of body contouring technologies in the market today.

FAT FREEZE Also known as “Cryolipolysis”, it is a relatively new procedure that invoices the non-invasive cooling of body fat to induce cell death, resulting in a permanent reduction of body fat in the treated area. It is a safe treatment because it does not affect or damage other surrounding healthy tissues. The effects are often seen 2 to 3 months after each treatment.

Patients have commented that they see up to 25% reduction of fat in the treated area after each session. Most people need between 1 and 3 sessions to see visible results.

Some soreness and bruising may be felt after each fat freeze treatment, and they can last for a few days.

SCULPSURE It is a laser treatment that busts stubborn fat cells from targeted areas. It is an FDA-certified procedure that can reduce fatty deposits in the treated area by about 24%.

It uses a 1060nm diode laser to melt the fats. This treatment alternates between hot and cool sensations. Initially, you may feel a cooling sensation to keep you comfortable throughout the session, while the laser cycles turn on and off at specific time to raise the temperature of the fat cells.

The number of treatments required depends largely on the volume of the fatty deposits and how well your body responds to the treatment.

Mild side effects of this treatment may include temporary soreness, swelling, or tissue firmness in the treated area.

TRILIPO It leverages on two effective technologies – TriLipo Radiofrequency and TriLipo Dynamic Muscle Activation to provide deep volumetric heating and muscle contraction to achieve maximum fat destruction.

This body contouring treatment is best suited for people who need to tighten loose skin because TriLipo is capable of tightening the skin at the same time.

See a doctor for effective weight management

Work with a doctor to get a safe and effective treatment plan to reduce body fat. He will provide you with a long-term solution to give you an overall weight-loss plan that should include diet, exercise, and accompanying treatment to reduce stubborn fats in those hard-to-reach areas.

It is important to take note that such body contouring, fat-reducing treatments should never be treated as a substitute for a healthy diet and exercise.
