The Perfect Multipurpose Van – Nissan Caravan

Nissan Caravan is the rebadged version of Prince Homy that was first produced in 1973. It is a light commercial vehicle that was initially introduced as the Prince Homy B640 and in 1976, the second-generation Nissan Caravan E20 was released.

Nissan Caravan E20 / E23 / E24

The second-generation Nissan Caravan E20 was introduced in 1976 available in a 4-door, 3 to 6-seater cargo van or a 9-seater passenger van. The Caravan E20 was equipped with a 1.5L J15 (SE20) straight- 4 and 2.0L H20 (PE20) petrol engines or a 2.2L SD22 (RE20) straight- 4 diesel engine.

The third-generation Nissan Caravan E23 was revealed in August 1980 with several body styles: 4-door 6/9-seater Caravan Van Hi-roof, the Caravan Coach 9-seater, and the luxurious 8Ride Silk Road sunroof. The E23 came fitted with a 1.6L J16 straight- 4 or 2.0L Z20S petrol engine, 2.0L SD23 diesel engine, or the turbocharged 2.0L LD20T diesel engine, attached to 5-speed or 4-speed manual transmission.

In 1986, the fourth-generation Caravan E24 was released and was available in a 4-door cargo van, a 4-door 8-seater coach, a 4-door 8-seater Silkroad Limousine, and a 4-door 15-passenger. The Caravan E24 was powered by 2.0L Z20S petrol, a 2.0L turbocharged LD20T, and a 2.7L TD27 turbocharged diesel, followed by the 3.2L QD32 straight-4 diesel engine that produced 74 kW (99 hp) at 3600 rpm.

Nissan Caravan E25 / E26/NV350 / E26/NV350

The fifth-generation Caravan E25 was introduced in 2001 with several upgrades on the engine, body, chassis, and suspension. The E25 was available in 4-doors and several trim styles: DX, GX, DX Super Long, Van Long Body, and Silk Road GX. Later models were available in 5-doors with 2.0L KA20DE, 2.4L KA24DE, 2.0L QR20DE petrol, 2.5L QR25 petrol, and the turbocharged ZD30DDTi diesel, powered by a 4-speed automatic or 5-speed manual transmission.

The sixth-generation Nissan Caravan (E26/NV350) was released in 2012 and is available as a short or long wheelbase. This model came fitted with a 2.0-liter QR20DE or 2.5-liter QR25DE petrol engine, and a turbocharged 2.5-liter YD25DDTi diesel engine powered through a 4(5)-speed automatic or 5-speed manual gearbox.

The Caravan E26/NV350 interior has a maximize interior space, with a rounded exterior to give a reasonably stylish appearance. The E26/NV350 features a large grille that is chrome plated on some models and easy-to-read gauges, a small steering wheel, a digital trip meter, and softly curved plastic trims. The front row seats are comfortable, while the rear seats are arranged in two rows of two on the right and a single seat on the left, with one foldable to give way for rear passengers to access the three rear seats.
