The NSX’s Nostalgia Factor Won’t Last Long
Remember when people used to actually own the Acura NSX? Lately, especially in the past five years, the vehicle has been hard to spot and many people are choosing other Acura cars—or even other brands, altogether—to drive around town. Instead, people are just reminiscing about the old NSX model. But why look back, when you could look ahead to the future and all that the brand new 2016 Acura NSX has to offer?
Forget the Past and Embrace the Future
A brand new Acura NSX is coming. Many car enthusiasts really liked the original, but it is time to move on and embrace what is next for Acura cars like the NSX. The original 1990 model competed against, and respectively beat out, the 911 Carrera 4, the Ferrari 348, the Lotus Esprit Turbo and the Corvette ZR-1 in a recent Car and Driver test.
These days, the competition is a bit tougher, and the cars have technology that most people do not even understand yet. The Porsche 911 Turbo, the Mercedes-AMG GT and the BMW i8 are some of the beasts that the NSX is matched up against in the current fast cars arena.
Is this vehicle tough enough to keep up with the aforementioned behemoths? Surprisingly, yes it is and the NSX could even rises above many of them in the ways of automotive performance.
When Will the NSX Start Showing Up at Dealerships?
There are very few cars out there right now that have been receiving the buzz that the 2016 Acura NSX has recently enjoyed. Everyone that has stayed up to date with its progress is asking when it will be released and officially “on the shelves,” so to speak. When can someone fork over large chunks of money to dealerships in order to own one?
Acura hasn’t specified that detail yet in their press releases or other bits of released information on the highly anticipated vehicle. However, production will begin this fall in Ohio. This is very exciting for enthusiasts of Acura cars.
What should they do until that time? Save up, because this car won’t come cheap. It will hit dealers at around $150,000 at its base price. With that kind of pricing, it will definitely be worth the money. The rumors that it will beat out other well-known sports cars just might be true and worth looking into. Acura cars don’t usually cost that much, even with their heavy luxury appeal; but when one does, it is probably an awesome NSX.
