The Next Phase Of Your Carpentry Career Could Be Just A Step Away, Courtesy Of Our EWPA

by Liz Seyi Digital marketing manager

If there’s one type of person of all people who especially appreciates the importance of carpentry to our world, it is the person who has spent years practising this vital trade already. You might be such an individual, with five or more years’ joinery experience behind you… but that doesn’t necessarily mean you’ll be able to start working on-site straight away.  In such a situation, it also doesn’t necessarily make sense to embark on a longer carpentry training course that might simply teach you a considerable amount of what you know already.

That’s why you may instead be particularly interested in our Experienced Worker Practical Assessment (EWPA) route, which can be undertaken in just one day and culminates in the award of an NVQ Level 2 Diploma in Site Carpentry, subject to fulfilling the requirements for this qualification.

In Just A Day Or Two, You Could Be A Better-Qualified Joiner

As established and trusted experts in construction training & assessment, we’re the ideal people to which to turn for your carpentry EWPA.

It really is a straightforward process; you arrange to spend the day, or possibly two, at our West Yorkshire training centre, where you will be assessed through a combination of witness testimonies, practical assessment, professional discussion and direct questioning.

The assessment will cover the three units that make up the carpentry NVQ – in relation to general workplace safety, efficient work practices, and the movement and handling of resources. You can support your bid for the qualification by picking a further three optional units.

At the end of the day with us, you will find out whether you have done enough to achieve the NVQ. If you have indeed satisfied the requirements, you will be sent your certificate within 14 days, and will be able to apply for the blue skilled worker CSCS card entitling you to begin on-site work.

We’re the leaders when it comes to all things construction training & assessment

The EWPA routes that we provide not just for carpenters, but also for those with previous experience in the likes of wall and floor tiling, bricklaying and plastering, complement our broader offering in construction courses. It all means that when you’re on the lookout for the accredited construction training & assessment centre that will allow you to take the next big step in your chosen trade, there’s no need to look anywhere else.

To start a discussion about the potential suitability of the fast-track EWPA route for you, please get in touch with us via phone or email now. We will then be able to outline the process to you, and arrange for you to talk to our NVQ carpentry assessor to help determine whether you stand a good chance of success when taking on the EWPA.

Don’t miss out on what could be the wisest decisions you ever make for your career as a carpenter, especially as you look to emerge from the coronavirus pandemic in style.
