The Newbie Hook
I was just sitting here thinking that I could just mind my business and let the weasels just have a feeding frenzy on the newbies but obviously I'm not build that way. My theory is and will always be that If I can help just ONE newbie save thousands of dollars and sleepless nights I'll put my two cents in and I could care less who's toes I step on.
There's another element to this game that too many people find out about too late and that element are the WOLVES, SHARKS and WEASELS.
These people have given the industry a black eye that some of us try to heal on a daily basis, so I commend all the people here who are serious about helping people, sales aside. Below are a few things you may want to consider before you even begin to think about an online business.
You have to build a foundation first, that's first and foremost, I'm not calling anyone an idiot but I'm going to make this as simple as possible, because some of you seem like you need some assistance.
1. Facebook is great but I don't waste my valuable time on it telling people what I had for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also, your pets are cute but I really don't wanna hear about your pet throwing up.
2. Use Facebook for Marketing if that's what you're there for, create a business, or fan page and load it up. Invite just 10 to 15 people a day or you'll get the Facebook slap.
3. Create a Twitter account with your niche or business name and follow people in your niche, then build your list organically or naturally.
4. Register on LinkedIn and create your profile and connect your blog to it, LinkedIn is not for fun and games, its for professional people.
5. Create a blog, preferably free from Wordpress, is it intimidating at first? You bet but it comes to you eventually just like anything else you stick with.
6. Don't jump into a Primary business right away because does it really make sense to get started with auto-ship when you have no foundation? THINK, use that thing between your ears you were blessed with.
7. Listen to someone who's been there and done that, trust me when I tell you that 99% of the time you won't like or agree with what you hear but that person can save your Marketing life.
In closing, I don't recommend auto-ship for beginners, it was a terrible experience for me that cost me thousands and by the time I figured out that I was being taken for a ride it was too late. Also, be careful with these businesses that want you to upgrade to this or that at least 4 or 5 times, they'll get you in at a low cost and kill you on the back end.

Getting back to autoship, I still have about 30 bottles of gas pills from a company that just quit the program and went another direction, like healthcare, so how do i sell the product now, on ebay. People get stuck like this on many of todays trends, they just fade away leaving you holding stock in worthless products... although this product does still work and I use it to get extra milage in my van, I have no support on the products as for ads or information, except the stuff from their pdf's

How you turn a personal statement into trashing auto-ship is beyond me but Ok.

Great article and I agree with Roosevelt. If it's a useful product for the buyer... nothing wrong with autoship. I personally would never get involved in a program like that that offered a product I have no interest in yet alone have to buy month after month. What sense does that make?

Excellent article, Paul but I'm not sure why you guys are trashing auto ship or monthly subscripton porgrams? As along as you and the people you refer see value in the auto-ship or subscription cost is irrelevant. In order to make money somebody got to buy something! Some programs allow free members to have referral commiissions but still somebody got to buy something or upgrade.

Excellent tips for sure Paul. You are right on track with everything you've said. I also steer clear from all auto ship companies. There are soooo many free affiliate programs out there that you can market with that there is absolutely no reason to join an auto ship company unless you really do plan to use the products and pay handsomely for them every month. The other problem with auto ship companies, is its very hard to get people to join and stay in for long term. Most people will drop out wi

Very helpful information Paul. You stated many of the pitfalls newbies tend to fall into. It is very nice of you to take the time and offer to help people new to internet business. So many people out there trying to rip others off. It's nice to know there are still some decent people like you out there!

You are right on with most of your comments, it like the matrixes, you get in early you can make some good money but if you get in late you only get pennies for your hard work, very muck like the pyramid teams the top gun gets it all. As for facebook don't use your personal site for business it turn people off to see ads all the time, same goes for twitter, plus don't play game on linkedin they are not into that stuff.
