The new Nothing in Europe - strategy on how to (not) fill it

Europe was rather a promise of prosperity as a peace project.
The formula "Who's in there, the better it is" trusted by the Less
Politicians who build upon fear their careers; even they have no plan.
So much Europe never was like in recent days. The more it is hitting our ears, the more eager it is summoned.
Sure, now all the stops must be pulled back until 1945, peppered with quotes from Robert Schuman to Helmut Kohl for all to know what threatens to become playful exactly. The great peace project. The historical community. The prosperity of the next generation.
All these concepts and formulas are correct, but do not seem somehow to ignite and to catch, otherwise would "Europe" still possess the attraction, which it had until the 90's. Because the democratic deficit or the "EU bureaucracy" which some identified as primordial evil, are not phenomena of recent years, but almost as old as the Union itself.
Until the 90s the EU's pledge looked to be magical.
The problem is not the bureaucracy that can be endure it as long as it goes well.
In other words: Who has a secure job, which does not matter as such anyway, must be a banana. For many years, "Europe" was more a promise of prosperity as a peace project, based on the formula: Who is in it, the better it is. Until the 90's, when the Eastern European countries targeted entering the EU, to be better dressed automatically and magically, but they were also seeking security and protection.
I am not one of those people who believe that Europe simply needs a new narrative, a new story. Nor do I believe that the lately proposed referendum in the United Kingdom regarding the membership a great opportunity to finally get this thing called bad EU rearrange - in the turmoil, the threat of recession, the possible job losses, we will settle and have to arrange very different things.
On the contrary, he who believes now that he could finally be liberated by the British builds only the next ivory tower.
Or to use a better, different picture: Logically we could say that in order to save this marriage, finally you have to go again with the new intern to bed.
Suddenly the EU members do not feel free, but incarcerated
If we have to renew something, then the promise of prosperity, so the formula: Who is in it, the better it is. I think so, that this formula still applies. Above loud emergency summits, where night after night small bankrupt countries were rescued with absurd austerity and "bailouts" to death, overlap other EU images.
The formula sounds somehow like this:
"Who's inside must stay inside, even if it means only worse times to him."
One can not ever argue about the causes of the euro debt crisis now - I think it is quite pointless: what matters is the present and projections into the future.
And since the best mood is currently in Europe or the Euro Vision Song Contest. (Ironically, supported by those part of the "Lost Generation", which was described in so many European countries to be the rod.)
The nationalists fill the vacuum with empty promises
But the problem is not the people who think and feel like that (being too often and too quickly labeled as Europe-enemies). The problem are those politicians who rely their shabby careers on these feelings - careers that handle with simple demands behind which an incredible emptiness, a hole opens up after a few days:
The referendum on United Kingdom's EU membership, by Boris Johnson to Nigel Farage, will now all quite similar, just make everything better. One must not fall into this trap.
There is no plan, as a Tory MP confessed to SkyNews: "Where's the plan? Can we see the proposed referendum on United Kingdom's membership plan now? "
He was asked.
He replied "There is no plan. The Leave campaign does not have a post-Proposed referendum on United Kingdom's membership ... Number 10 should have had a plan. " Out of the sheer horror only advertising time suddenly was shown.
In Michael Ende's "Neverending Story" is "nothingness" that is spreading.
There is more than one hole, it's - now just something called... nothing.
We should think of this book, after we saw this vacuum on last Friday - that began to spread, as we setup the next chapter of this recent disaster.
