The New Facebook Power Editor: A Complete Guide
The Facebook power editor has a new look! The controllers have made navigating for ads, ad sets, and campaigns fairly easy to quickly land you to what you are searching for. Like all the big changes, it will take some time to warm up to the new Power Editor. As you get to know it better, you will find out that:
- Some features of the power Editor are relocated to different places
- The design is slightly different, but it operates the same
- Some things work differently while the others have remained relatively unchanged
- Some brand new features are included
Let’s dive in to know it better!
Top Navigation
In the previous editions, the navigation items were located in one of the drop down scrolls on the top, now they remain uncovered for ease of use.
Manage Ads
It is the default view, which allows you to manage your ad campaigns.
Audiences
This feature has not changed much. It covers your custom audience, lookalike audience, and saved audience.
Image Library
This feature has also not changed. This is a place where all your uploaded images are stored.
Reporting
This is a list where all your saved reports of Power Editor are stored.
Page Posts
This feature was previously known as ‘Manage Pages’, and is a collection of page posts.
Tools
It is a drop down scroll that gives you an access to the following:
- Campaign Dashboard
- Pixels
- Billing
- Account Settings
- Account Group
Side Navigation
Previously, side navigation allowed you to filter your research according to the campaign, ad set, and labels. It confused many advertisers because they were supposed to click on ad campaigns on the left, but they were actually present on the right. The all new side navigation has these icons represented on right, which you click and then land on the information which is situated on the right hand side. As there is no longer a list of campaign ads, ad sets and ads on the left now, the use of filtering has become more important than ever.
More Room for Lists
More room for lists is probably one of the biggest cosmetic changes that Facebook Power Editor has gone through. The previous Power Editor was double paned, where the top list was a list of campaigns, ad sets or ads, and the bottom pane was dedicated to editing. Now thankfully there is no separator, which makes the design much clear.
