What's your summer style like? Do you strip down to shorts and vests? Do you usually remain au natural? Though comfortable, living on a limited wardrobe robs you off fashionable options. Soaring temperature doesn't necessarily mean you can wear shorts and vests to work or to parties or to branches. You have to look stylish no matter what the season. But looking stylish doesn't mean you must sacrifice comfort in the process. You must find the middle ground in dressing during summer. And the best way to achieve that would be to incorporate these four summery fabrics in your wardrobe.

Linen

The hands down favourite of warm season dressing, linen is misunderstood by so many people. It isn't just for people indulging in luxury or cruising on a yacht or attending high-profile summer brunches. It's for everyone. It's cooler than cotton and more easily available. Despite being more than 4000 years, linen is still produced in large quantities for its heat-beating qualities. It gives you the feeling of wearing next to nothing.

That said, linen is also one of the toughest fabrics around, so don't mistake its low thread count for delicateness. A linen shirt can last for a number of years if you care for it properly. Also, linen absorbs one-fifth of its weight in moisture, so no matter how profusely you sweat, it wouldn't show.

On the downside, linen creases very easily, so you have to regularly iron your clothes to keep them in shape. But hey, all good things come at a price, right?

Cotton

The most widely used natural fabric in the world, cotton has conquered every man's wardrobe. Comfort, affordability, and easy availability make this the most-worn and best-loved fabric of all time.

Cotton is breathable, leaving you comfortable even when the mercury rises. It absorbs moisture, keeps you cool, and protects your skin from summer rashes. It's lightweight, since cotton is a very fine fabric, but it is also sturdy and can be woven into different types of things, from garments to bed sheets to curtains. There are few materials like cotton when it comes to staying cool in summer.

On the downside, cotton suffers from the same problem as linen- it wrinkles and creases quickly, calling for regular ironing. Pure cotton- the ones that aren't blended- also tends to shrink after the first wash. If you're buying pure, unblended cotton clothing for men, make sure to buy a size larger since it might shrink a little.

Silk

Ah! Now this one's for those who would like to wear something fancy yet comfortable during summer. Silk may be for sparing use, thus making it ideal for occasional wear, but when you wear it you feel like heaven. Silk gives a different dimension to your summer dressing.

The greatest benefit of silk is its weight. It's so light you'll actually forget you're wearing anything. Silk is easy to wash and dry, and unlike cotton it doesn't shrink when washed. From shirts to jackets, silk gives you a feel of luxury, bringing some energy into your otherwise summer wardrobe.

Make sure to keep silk as much away from direct sunlight as possible since it tends to fade in heat.
