The Jeep Wrangler 4xe plug-in Hybrid is Ready

The first plug-in hybrid variant of the Jeep Wrangler can now be reserved in Spain. We are talking about the Jeep Wrangler 4xe and, at the moment, only the First Edition launch version is available, which is the starting signal for the marketing of this 4x4 PHEV in Europe. Its price is set at 73,900 euros, with discounts applied, and enjoys the ZERO label of the DGT.

This variant, which comes with complete standard equipment under its arm, already allows you to formalize the advance reservation to get the services of the plug-in hybrid Wrangler. For this vehicle, there are lots of aftermarket replacement like Jeep Wrangler aftermarket headlights, bumpers, wheels in the market. Thus, the North American firm, already under the umbrella of Stellantis, will test the interest in the Spanish market for the Wrangler 4xe. It has also opened its orders in Italy, France, Germany or Switzerland.

Its arrival at dealerships is announced for this summer, at which time deliveries will also begin. However, the pre-order will only be available until March, so this edition will be limited.

In the Wrangler 4xe, a 2.0-liter turbo gasoline block and two electric propellers join forces: one that acts as a starter motor / generator (belted to the crankshaft) and gold located on the transmission. Working together they offer 380 hp and 637 Nm, distributing the force through two clutches, and are managed by an eight-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission.

The electric motors draw their power from a 400V, 96-cell lithium-ion battery pack, with a capacity of 17 kWh. Jeep promises that it approves an electric autonomy of up to 50 kilometers in the city or up to 40.23 km in the mixed cycle. Both figures allow you to enjoy the ZERO sticker on our market.

In addition, Jeep promises that it takes less than three hours to fully recharge its batteries, having the jack raised to allow wading of up to 30 inches without compromising the electrical system.

With a maximum speed of 130 km/h in electric mode, the Jeep Wrangler 4xe has three E-Selec driving modes: Hybrid (automatically combines the engines), Electric (in zero emission mode until the battery runs out) and eSave (only the heat engine operates). Any of them can be selected even with the reducer activated.

With regard to this First Edition launch version, for now the only one available, it is based on the 80th anniversary variants that will see the light of day this 2021 to celebrate such an important birthday of the brand.

Two colors can be selected for the bodywork, Granite Crystal gray and Brilliant White, both chosen for being the most popular in Europe. And from the rest of the range they will also be distinguished by specific design accents or Mopar elements, such as a trunk cargo organizer or a fabric cover. The icing on the cake is put on 18-inch wheels with granite gray details.
